CompTrust AGC joins the members of Alabama AGC and AGC of America in congratulating Eddie Stewart of Caddell on his induction as 2018 President of AGC of America.

Eddie Stewart, a long-time member of AGC and former Alabama AGC President, has been serving at the local and national levels of AGC for more than a decade, and has observed up close many of the challenges facing contractors today.  In an excerpt with 2017 AGC of America President, Art Daniels, Eddie address some of these issues and identifies the rising costs of insuring a workforce as one of the top challenges contractors currently face.

Since 1983, Alabama AGC has been on the forefront addressing this challenge with the formation and administration of CompTrust AGC – the only self-insurance workers’ compensation fund in Alabama to have a rating with A.M. Best.  Designed by contractors for contractors, CompTrust AGC is the leading provider of workers’ compensation for those working in the non-residential construction industry in Alabama.  With assets exceeding $90 million and Members’ Equity of $43 million, there is no other fund in Alabama with the financial security of CompTrust AGC.  Combined with a best-in-class historical loss ratio for insurance companies and funds serving the construction industry, there are few who have the personnel and resources to save contractors money, increase contractors’ profitability, and the tools necessary to better manage the EMR.

In December of 2017, CompTrust AGC launched the AGC P&C insurance facility, providing other lines of insurance to its members.  Offering Commercial General Liability, Commercial Property, Commercial Auto, Inland Marine, and Business Owners’ Policies, CompTrust AGC now offers a comprehensive set of products to help contractors better manage their risk while also managing their insurance costs.

CompTrust AGC is looking to add even more products to its stable of options by providing Contractors Pollution Liability, Contractors Design Liability, and Builders’ Risk coverages in the next year.
